This was a magnificent result for the team after being well beaten the previous week by the same team.
The game started with Athletic defending the slope. Mount Nod had the better of the early exchanges with Lewis Turner making several good saves. Then from a cross Kane Gentles opened the scoring and from the restart Jodan Sood found himself in plenty of space to rifle in a left shot from the edge of the area into the roof of the net. Halftime 2-0
The second half started with a long through ball from Zak Bhara which found Josh Tyler in space and he quickly laid the ball back for Jordan to sidefoot in his second goal. Athletic now had control of the game with Ryan Williams dictating the play in midfield. From his pass to Aaron Cashmore-Gilder Aaron found himself with plenty of time to look up and place his shot over the keeper. Jordan then completed his hat-trick from a penalty which gave the Mount Nod keeper no chance. To their credit Mount Nod kept playing and were rewarded with a consolation goal with five minutes to go.
This result now puts the team in the quarter finals of the cup. Well done boys!.
