A real top of the table clash between 2 attack minded teams in atrocious conditions. Athletic went ahead after 4 mins with a superb individual goal by Bradley Hardwick,beating 3 players before slotting the ball home. Brinklow responded, and equalised after 20 mins.Athletic went back on the attack and after a neat pass, Kyle Vincent-Squibb burst through the home defence to finish in style.The conditions were extreme and Athletic lost 2 players to the elements in Kofi Staples and Viraj Popat.Athletic started the 2nd half well and after a great interception by Daniel Jeffs, the ball was passed to Aniello Prota, then to Emily Greenway and finally to Bradley Hardwick, who carried the ball and shot at goal, the ball was parried and Mitchell Taylor pounced to score. After a few desperate clearances by Brinklow, Mitchell Taylor scored his 2nd of the game and 8th this season. Brinklow were awarded a penalty but Daniel Jeffs made a fantastic save.Brinklow scored 2 late goals but Athletic held on to make it 21 games unbeaten and stay top of the table.
