 (AET; - at full-time)

An eagerly anticipated cup clash between the top 2 teams in the Green division. Athletic were quick out of the blocks and took the lead through Marley Villiers in the 8th minute with a lovely finish with his right foot. Ernsford responded immediately and equalised through Jon Gbla who reacted first in the Athletic bo.x The home side retook the lead when Bradley Hardwick cut in from the right to curl in a glorious left footed shot for his 19th of the season. Ernsford came out in determined fashion in the 2nd half and levelled again after a shot bobbled over Daniel Jeffs in the home goal. Game on. This spurred Athletic on and after a storming run, beating 3 players Marley drove in his 2nd and Athletic's 3rd goal. Athletic were defending well but it took a phenomenal challenge by Captain Ryan Baber to keep the visitors at bay. Kofi Staples capitalised on a poor clearance to score his 10th of the season and the 4th for Athletic. After Viraj Popat was fouled, Bradley's fine free-kick was met firmly and powerfully by Marley for his first Hat-trick for the club. A perfect treble, left and right foot goals and a header. There was still time for Viraj to swivel on a neat cross by Bradley to score his 10th and Athletic's 6th of the game. A great team performance by Athletic and well done Ernsford for their part in a pulsating cup tie. If only professional football was this entertaining!.
